Audrey Publishers, in partnership with Angel Wings Global Freedom Foundation, hosted the launch of Mary Chineye Nweke’s young adult novel, Shadows and Sunlights, as part of the MENTALIFY program on Saturday, 15th February 2025, at IACD Library, Dugbe Road, Ibadan, with online participation via Zoom.

The event explored the intersection of literature and mental health, offering attendees insights into trauma, self-discovery, and emotional resilience.

Event Highlights:

  • Book Launch and Unveiling: Shadows and Sunlights was officially introduced to attendees

  • Keynote Speakers & Panelists:

    • Olamide Anthony Olabiyi, PhD – Nuclear Engineer and Founder of The PODIUM, spoke on the importance of mental well-being in educational and career success

    • Dr. Michaels – Medical Director at Quantum Leap Consulting, led a session on “Dealing with Trauma: Steps to a Healthy Life”

  • Interactive Activities:

    • Write and Sip: A fun creative exercise encouraging participants to reflect on personal experiences

    • Parents and Youth Panel Session: Open discussion on fostering emotional health in families

  • Q&A and Discussions: Attendees engaged directly with the speakers and the author on strategies for mental wellness

The launch successfully combined storytelling with actionable mental health guidance, leaving attendees informed, inspired, and empowered to embrace self-care and resilience.
