The Catholic Youth Organisation of Nigeria (CYON), St. Agnes Catholic Church, in collaboration with the CYON Mokola Deanery, is set to host its 2026 Youth Camp from 3rd to 6th September 2026 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Apete, Ibadan. The initiative is designed to bring young people together for a meaningful experience of faith, learning, fellowship, leadership and personal development.
The youth camp is being organised as part of the Church’s commitment to nurturing young people and creating an environment where they can grow spiritually, morally and socially while discovering their potential and developing a stronger sense of responsibility towards themselves, the Church and society.
The camp is being organised under the administration of Okeke Victor Moses, Mokola Deanery CYON President, and Edwin Esther, St. Agnes Apete CYON Parish President, and is championed by the Office of the Director of Socials, Andrew Joseph. The programme is further supported by the spiritual and moral guidance of Rev. Fr. Augustine Wale Taiwo, Parish Priest of St. Agnes Catholic Church, and Fr. Johnpaul Aninwodo, Deanery Youth Chaplain. The 2026 Youth Camp is chaired by Okooboh Maureen.
The organising committee comprises Olaoye Elijah Oluwasegun, Olayi Peter, Ibeh Obinna James-Francis, Martin Roch Ezihe, Mary Chineye Nweke, Emmanuel Raymond Onuegbu, Odogwu Vivian Chinwenmeri, Erinayo Elizabeth Olusomoka, Nwobodo Favour Rita, Patrick Felix Chinonso, and Edigha chukwudi victor, alongside other volunteers working towards the successful delivery of the four-day programme.
Beyond the spiritual activities that will form an important part of the camp, the organisers are focused on providing participants with opportunities for meaningful interaction, learning, entertainment, reflection and personal growth. The camp is expected to create a platform where young people can connect with one another, exchange ideas and build relationships that extend beyond the duration of the programme.
The organisers believe that empowering young people requires more than words. It requires creating spaces where they can be heard, encouraged, challenged and equipped to make positive contributions within their families, communities and society.

With the combined efforts of the St. Agnes Catholic Church CYON and CYON Mokola Deanery, alongside the guidance of the Church and support from organisations that share the vision, the 2026 Youth Camp promises to be an engaging and impactful gathering for young people.
The camp is ultimately expected to leave participants with more than memories. It seeks to inspire a renewed sense of purpose, strengthen their faith and relationships, encourage positive values and remind every young person that their voice, ideas and actions have a place in shaping a better future.
