Hall of Sages, a youth movement built around civic engagement, intellectual discourse and solution-driven conversations, is set to hold its second edition, with Audrey Publishers Limited joining the initiative as a supporting brand.

Founded under Sam and Friends in 2023 and led by Owolabi O. Samuel, Hall of Sages has grown beyond a conventional debate platform to become an inter-tertiary intellectual movement focused on equipping young Nigerians to engage with the economic and structural challenges facing the country.

While the platform operates through intellectual summits and debate, its vision extends beyond competition. Hall of Sages seeks to create a credible space where young Nigerians can question existing structures, propose solutions to real problems and explore practical ways of contributing to a better future.

The second edition, themed “From Olodo to Oracle: Every Kind of Smart Deserves a System,” takes its inspiration from the ongoing “Olodo Uprising” cultural conversation. Rather than positioning itself as a rebuttal to the conversation, Hall of Sages 2.0 seeks to build a bridge between different understandings of intelligence and success.

At the centre of the conversation is a simple proposition: intelligence should not be confined to one pathway.

Whether it expresses itself through formal academic achievement, entrepreneurship, creativity, innovation or unconventional approaches to solving problems, every form of intelligence deserves systems that allow it to develop and thrive.

This philosophy is one of the reasons Audrey Publishers Limited is supporting Hall of Sages 2.0.

For Audrey Publishers, a publishing company built around stories, ideas and the people who create them, the belief that ideas deserve platforms is central to its work.

The company will support the summit with 100 branded items for participants, contributing to an environment where young people are encouraged not only to listen and participate, but also to document their thoughts, questions and ideas.

The Founder and Executive Director of Audrey Publishers, Mary Chineye Nweke, will also be speaking at the summit on “Ideas Are Not Enough: Turning Intellectual Capital into Real Impact.”

Mary Chineye Nweke

Nweke, a writer, publisher, cultural advocate and social impact leader, has built her work around creating platforms that turn ideas into tangible experiences. Through Audrey Publishers, she continues to amplify African writers and stories, while her work in cultural advocacy has also led to the creation of Cultural Iris, a multidisciplinary cultural platform bringing together literature, photography, fashion and cultural dialogue to explore African identity and heritage.

Her participation at Hall of Sages 2.0 is particularly aligned with the summit’s emphasis on moving beyond intellectual conversations towards practical impact.

For Nweke, ideas become meaningful when they are given the opportunity to grow into something tangible. This philosophy has shaped her work across publishing, cultural advocacy and community-focused initiatives.

“Every book begins as an idea. Every movement begins as an idea. Every institution, innovation and social intervention begins with someone asking, ‘What if?’ But ideas alone are not enough.”

Hall of Sages 2.0 seeks to extend that conversation beyond the summit itself.

According to the organisers, the movement will continue after the Grand Finale through ongoing intellectual discourse gatherings designed to take ideas generated during the summit and explore how they can be translated into practical solutions. Other youth-impact programmes will also be developed throughout the year as part of the movement’s broader engagement with young Nigerians.

This continuity is a key part of what distinguishes Hall of Sages from a one-off event. Its long-term objective is to build a sustained intellectual and civic platform where young Nigerians can continue to debate, reflect, question and propose solutions to the economic and structural challenges around them.

For Audrey Publishers, supporting that vision is an extension of its own commitment to intellectual development, storytelling, creativity and social impact.

The company believes that young people do not necessarily lack ideas. What is often missing are the systems, resources, platforms and communities that help those ideas take shape.

Hall of Sages 2.0 therefore presents an important question for a generation navigating a rapidly changing world: What happens when every kind of smart is finally given a system in which it can thrive?

It is a conversation Audrey Publishers is pleased to be part of.

Because sometimes, all a good idea needs is a place to begin.

And sometimes, all a young person needs is someone willing to say, “Your idea is worth listening to.”
